All Pilgrims [Foreign and Foot] from different parts of the world, intending to participate in the 3rd June 2017 Uganda Martyrs' Day celebrations at Namugongo are requested

and advised to liaise with the Uganda Episcopal Conference [emails: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.] and Hoima Diocese [emails: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.]

 

Send relevant details i.e.: Lists of Names [if groups] indicating the country of origin, entry points, means of travel, expected date of arrival and departure, valid travel identification documents, accommodation plans.

Individuals are also advised to do the same.

Group Leaders of the Foot Pilgrims should send lists of their pilgrims to the mentioned e-mails before they set off.  Send your 'Walking Route ' details and planned stopover places for easy coordination and security purposes. 

May the Holy Martyrs of Uganda intercede for us.

Nuncio praises Carmelite Sisters' contemplative lifestyle. The Carmelite Sisters, who lead a monastic life of prayer and seclusion, celebrated their 50th anniversary in Uganda. FAITH The Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, Archbishop Michael August Blume has sent a special message to the Carmelite Sisters of Kiyinda-Mityana, congratulating them on the 50th anniversary of their presence in Uganda.

My soul proclaims the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my saviour for his goodness to us and for all the graces that he bestowed upon us as a congregation of Mary Reparatrix. It has been such a wonderful experience that each time we go back to these historical memories since the arrival of our Sisters in Uganda (The Pearl of Africa), I find a deeper meaning of what we are called to be.

Saint Mary's Cathedral Rubaga, commonly referred to as Rubaga Cathedral, is the parent cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala, the oldest Roman Catholic diocese in Uganda. In 1914 the missionaries began constructing a modern cathedral at Lubaga (Rubaga). Construction was completed in 1925 and St. Mary's Cathedral Rubaga was consecrated on 31 December 1925.
